Yellow- Math- We matched the number to the ten frames. I used a black-and-white version and I copies 4 different colors of card stock. Each of the 4 students in the center had their own color-coded set to match. {There Was an Old Lady Who Swallows Some Leaves Math Unit}
Orange- Writing- We used the leaf cards to sequence the numbered ladybugs. My goal is to get my students to write in the number that is missing and THEN match the ladybug to it. It is easier to do this if you use the numbers 1-10 only, but those teens are still tricky for my class. {Letter Ll Pack is part of this bundle.}
Red- We did these There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves Sentence Scrambles. I showed my kids how to do these in small groups on Monday. They did AWESOME! For center time, I asked them to write down the sentences we unscrambled and read them to me. Since this activity contained 6 three word sentences, it was a little tough, BUT everyone in my class did it. This center was also the reason I didn’t have a tough writing center.{There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves Scrambles}
Purple- Phonics- I love this activity! My students sorted the Old Lady to get her to “eat” things that have the same initial sound! Mm lady wants a map, Ww lady wants a wagon, and so on. {There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves Literacy}
Blue- Unit- We completed these nut puzzles with tally marks on one side and ten frames on the other. They are self-checking which is AWESOME. I loved watching my kids think through this process. {Nuts About Fall}
Green- Unit- to review color words and/or number words, I created these fall scene mats. The students read the words on the outside and draw a line to the object that matches it on the inside. For example, they read “yellow” and draw a line from yellow to the sun. {Nuts About Fall}
I love seeing these centers that you are doing! I am hoping to purchase all these centers soon! Thanks for answering my previous questions! One more – do you have a recommendation for name writing? I have many who are struggling with printing names even though they copy their name off a sheet, shaving cream, etc. Do you print a copy (if you do, what do you use?)for each child to trace at the beginning of the school year?
Thanks,
Maryann
