Last week’s computer problems have been solved and I am back working on my PC for Center Saturday!
{My PC was throwing a fit last weekend, so I had to crack open the Mac by hubs got for me. He was so glad to see me using it. I like my Mac, but I might need some classes to figure out how to use it. Some of that stuff is frustrating!!!}
Again, I love Publisher so I am a happy girl this weekend.
This week, my sweet class has been working on the letter Mm, -am word family, sight word to, and using the theme of apples.
Here is a glimpse at our centers!
I use the colored border to walk you through all the centers.
Yellow- Math- After reading the book, If You Give a Moose a Muffin, I used these muffins to have my kids count and write the number in the ten frame. Since each center I have can hold up to 4 students, I had two versions of these muffins and two sets of the opposite muffins. Those have the ten frame empty, but give you a number. The students have to read the number and fill in the ten frame. This is from my If You Give a Moose a Muffin Unit.
Orange- Writing- Using the alphabet in the room and these monster cards, my students had to fill in the missing letter. This was def a challenge for some of the kids. Some students has to say the alphabet to find the missing letter. Others looked at the letter before the missing letter. It was fun to see which strategy worked for which student. From my Mm Activities Pack
Red- Reading-We used these monkey number cards to write in the missing number and/or add the number banana to the spot. Since my class has so many levels, this activity was great to reach all those levels. Some students used a dry erase marker to fill in the missing number, then they matched the banana to that number. This wasn’t really a reading activity, but I knew my students needed this practice for gain more number sense. From my Mm Activities Pack
Purple- Phonics- We used the alphabet mailman to deliver the initial sound letters. This was FUN to do in groups of 4. I was also able to see which letters that I haven’t covered are still a challenge for my kinders… can you say w and y! From my Mm Activities Pack
Blue- Unit- Since we read and use the If You Give a Moose a Muffin book this week, we sorted food that we eat for breakfast and dinner. It was a great way to see who could sort, who knew what the pictures were, and who eats what of course. I heard lots of comments about broccoli and apple juice. I know some of my kids sometimes eat cereal for dinner { yummy, I totally do} and who has no clue what a waffle is. I am so tempted to make waffles with my class now for the letter Ww.
This is from my If You Give a Moose a Muffin Unit.
Green- Unit- We did a simple apple sorting sheet. My kids are great sorters, but horrible cutters and glue-rs. {Is that even a word!?!} I have to get the practice in when I can.
A lot of these activities came from my Mm Activities Pack.

I highlighted the ones in red that came from here.
And others came from my unit for If You Give a Moose a Muffin.

I colored these activities orange.
We can’t go a week without cooking! We made applesauce on Wednesday and today we HAD to make something to remember the letter Mm with… So we made some YUMMY monkey bread! It was so messy and delicious and FUN!
I always love to read comments and feedback from you guys, so I can’t to read what you write below.
Different yes.. But once you figure it out you won't want to use a pc!! I speak from experience!! ๐ I can not stand to do ANYTHING at school on the pc except for emails. It is SO much faster on Pages and Numbers (i never could figure out Excel!! )
BTW Great post ๐

Thanks for all the great ideas! I love following you and seeing what you plan to do each week. I was going crazy trying to find the "muffin ten frames" and now they are in the "If you give a moose a muffin" packet! YEAH! Another question – how did you post the "m" worksheet on the ipad for the child to use. What app?
Thanks so much!

Great centres again. It's so good to see what you are doing through your photos then read about it. I'm just about to start daily 5 with my class and look forward to gathering centre ideas. Got to love pre made activities …thanks for inspiration. ( we are on 2 weeks spring break now)
