Tech Tuesday

November 12, 2013 by Mary Amoson 3 Comments

I have not been doing a great job sharing great apps with you guys. I am going to try hard to fix that problem today and get back to my Tech Tuesday posts.
Here are some FUN apps that I want to share with you.
1. Ice Land Adventures– Free for the 1st level, then a charge for the rest.
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/alphabet-spelling-phonics/id502026679
This app let’s students
-create words
-use letters by matching lower-case and upper-case letters
-recognize letter names,
-phonics  fun with syllables by combining vowels and consonants
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/alphabet-spelling-phonics/id502026679
 2. Counting Madness– $1.99 for all games or $0.99 for one
 https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/counting-madness/id536910166?mt=8
Students can play matching(memory game that matching the number to a number set)
-counting using one to one correspondence
counting too then identify the number
-number order to order numbers from small to large
3. Eggy Phonics 1 and Eggy Phonics 2
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/eggy-phonics-1/id654855366https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/eggy-phonics-2/id687162070?mt=8
I really love ALL the reading egg apps because my kids love to play these apps and I know they are getting great practice using these games…. smiling the whole way.
Reading Eggs did an amazing job with these apps because they are allowing better student management with these apps. (You can delete players easily where other apps of theirs don’t allow this.) They also have three levels- easy, medium, and hard. Phonics 1 is for short vowels and Phonics 2 is for long vowels.
I have a TON more to share. Can you hold tight until next week?
And if you need any iPad knowledge and know how from a real teacher who uses them in her classroom, grab my iPad 101 pack here.
