SweeTart Chicks, Ducks, and Bunnies is a fun Spring themed candy. We can use fun themed candies to cover tons of learning standards in fun ways. We have some fun Easter themed printables for Kindergarten that you can grab for free.
Check out these Candies
SweeTart Chicks, Ducks, and Bunnies are super cute and super fun. There are three types of designs; ducks, chicks, and bunnies. But these three designs can come in 5 different colors. This created more learning fun because teachers and parents can use these candies to sort in more than one way.
Sorting by Animal
The first way we can sort is by the animal. You can see the three types of mats, each with color coded circles. Once your little learner sorts the candy by the animal, then have them use the color coded circle to sort the candy by color. Don’t worry, we know you need these Easter themed printables for Kindergarten.
Since you most likely won’t be giving your little learner a huge helping of candies to sort, do not expect for each and every circle to be filled. You may have some empty circles.
Sorting by Color
One of more common ways to sort is by color. These SweeTart candies are great for working on this skill as well. You can see how we used this simple color graphing sheet to sort the chicks, ducks, and bunnies by colors.
Here is a close up look at the color sorting, even using a variety of the animal candies. How that your learners have sorted by color, let the comparing number begin! Which has more? And which one has less?
Graphing The Easter Candy
Once our little learner sort by color or type, why not graph as well? Squeezing in math skill when students are engaged is my middle name. Check out the graph by colors shown above.
And because we can have skills a few different ways, check out this second graph by animal. One extra skill you can work on here is making a picture graph with more than one candy in each graph. Two or three candies will easily fit in each section.

“No Candy” Activities Also Available
Because some of us can’t use candy in our classroom or perhaps we just need some printable fun, I created two Easter candy alternatives. One set is for colorful chicks and the other is for colorful bunnies. Sorry, we didn’t have colorful ducks to make that set. You have two great options to choose from and 4 printables. Plus, you can use these sheet to “collect data” and use this for all the other sheets in the pack!
Some Addition and Comparing Numbers
Now that we have collected some fun data using our candy, we can use this data to add numbers and compare numbers. One of our sheets works great for addition. Now, because I am not giving out TONS of candy, not each area had a number of candies to be added. This would be a great activity to use for counting with zero for sure.
This printable for comparing numbers by colors is a great learning tool for comparing numbers. Students can lay the candy on that side or simply write in the number they have. Then they can compare and circle the right sign.
