We finished up apples a few weeks ago, but I HAD to show you some of our awesome apple projects! Here is some pictures of my door with an apple basket and Johnny Appleseed.
I love Cupcake for a Teacher and so do my students. We used her Johnny Appleseed Crafts to make Johnny himself. It is suppose to be a writing activity, but we used the craft to make Johnny memorable to us. {Hence I made up the shirt pattern in place of the writing prompt.}
Honestly, Johnny is too cute and my kids connected with him so much more after we created him ourselves. {Check out below if you want to snag this crafty yourself!}
I love making the finger painted apples for my door. I place these in each students memory scrapbook at the end of the school year as well. I also add pictures of my students, but I took this photo without them so you guys can enjoy it.
Here is how we make these apples.
We use ONLY THREE FINGERS in finger paint to paint the apples. We always use red for the pointer since we are painting the apple the most. Since there is only a little bit of brown and green, using other fingers for those colors is easy peesy.
I suggest tracing the apple onto carstock or construction paper because they are thicker for the paint to hold onto. Then have your students write their names on the BACK with a pencil. I ask them to write their names in the middle of the apple so it is still there when the stencil gets cut out.
If they only use three fingers, we can clean up with baby wipes.
After painting, let the apples dry.
The next day have your little ones cut out their apple… or if you are really nice {I am not this nice…} you can cut it out for them.
If you are looking for a stencil to trace or a sheet to copy… I made a quick freebie for you guys.

Here is a Cupcake for a Teacher Johnny Appleseed Crafty!
And one last thing… I made a HUGE and FUN QR code discovery.
This week I tested it out with my kids and they LOVE LOVE LOVED it.
Here is how it works. There are two versions, one with QR codes and one without…
so every class can do this activity.
Your students use the code breaker sheet to break the farm word code.
They have to use knowledge of numbers and letters to break the code,
then the students have to write the letters to form a word.
They can self check their work without the codes,
but the students can also scan the code to
SEE A PICTURE of correct answer to check their work.
I also provided a worksheet version!

Love the apples! Perfect for this time of year and thanks for the template. I love QR codes and really want my students to try them out. Do you have them do it independently or with an adult?

My kids can almost use the QR codes independently. I have an easy scanner on my devices, but the approved QR scanner for the school devices is a but harder to manage, so I need to help them a little. They catch on quickly though.
