Let me show you How to Make Easy Toy Soldier Ornaments. Christmas time is approaching and it is important to make fun, cheap toy soldier ornaments. Make these easy toy soldier ornaments with your students or personal children. It will be a simple, cheap, and FUN ornament children will love to create and parents will love to display.
What you will need to make Easy Toy Soldier Ornaments
This is a simple art project, so you will only need a few basic items. Most of these can be found at a superstore or craft store.
You Will Need:
-9 mini Popsicle sticks per the desired ornament
-glue gun-black, blue, and red marker
-gold glitter glue
-ornament hook
My first tip to create easy toy soldier ornaments is to use mini sticks instead of regular-size ones. (Here is a link to an example of these sticks on Amazon.) These make the ornament a more manageable size and easier to color for students.
How to Prepare These Easy Toy Soldier Ornaments
After gathering your materials, you will need to prep the toy soldier figures. I recommend making one example to send home with a parent volunteer to create for your whole class. You could also print out this picture below. This image shows the back side {on the left) and the front side (on the right.)
The back is significant because you need to use three sticks in the back to hold the toy soldier figure together correctly.
Color Code the Toy Soldier Ornament for Student Success
The first year we made these in the classroom, I did not set my students up for success. I thought of giving my students an example of how they could color the toy soldier ornament so it looked similar to a toy soldier.
I was wrong. I learned quickly that I could color code these in seconds to make it easier for my students’ success. You can solve this by using this color code. This sets your little ones up for coloring their ornament. You do not have to, but it can be hard to tell what this ornament is without this help.
Once all the coloring has been done to the toy soldiers, I hot glue the ornament hook to the back then add a little glitter glue detailing.
Lastly, have your students print their names and the year on the back. My own daughter made one last year when my kinders created theirs. She loved putting on our tree this year.
