Space Activities for Kindergarten: Space is the most FUN week of school I can think of. I love everything about my space unit. I know my students will be actively engaged with learning activities that are so much fun!
Space Activities for Kindergarten
I get excited about opening my Space Tub. I was pumped, planned, prepped, and ready for learning action! Everything was ready to go… and then the snow came! This year’s space unit had to get cut short. I didn’t have a ton of time to snap photos of our exceptional learning opportunities, but here are some of our amazing activities.
Learning About the Moon
We made these art projects for our study of the moon. Our big idea is that the moon is a rock. We talk about how the moon orbits around Earth and so much more. We love to make these art projects and create craters on the moon. This was one page in our Space Book.
Constellations
And we made some constellations… which is always a class favorite. Here is an example of the constellation creations in action. I believe it is Draco the Dragon.
I throw in a template of how to make a star, which is not an actual star that is in the sky. We discussed this but students always want to know how to draw because my kids always want to know how.
Ordering the Planets
And we order our planets {Cutouts of Trend found here) from the sun and write down their order. My class goes NUTS for this activity! It is so much fun! Of course… we did so many more activities and I had tons more planned we couldn’t get to.
