If you are looking for St. Patrick’s Day activities, but I need to know if you know about Silly McGilly?
Silly McGilly is an adorable leprechaun who comes to visit your house or school…
to play small tricks at night. He doesn’t have to play naughty tricks, but he LOVES to do small SILLY things… like leaving cabinet drawers open or coloring the milk green.
And he leaves the night before St. Patrick’s Day.
Their website {www.sillymcgilly.com} has some pretty fabulous parent or teacher freebies and printables you have to grab.
Maybe you can leave Silly McGilly some suggestions on what tricks to play or ask him something NOT to do.
I also LOVE this coloring sheet. I know my students would love to color this sheet and take it home to tell their parents all about Silly’s visits to our classroom. {My kinders NEED visual reminders so this is ideal.}
Since Silly McGilly plays small tricks each time he visits, which can be daily, weekly, or even ONCE,
what an AWESOME way to document his mischief then through using this Silly Scrapbook.
I plan on prepping one book per student and using this as morning work for his regular visits.
I can NOT wait to introduce Silly McGilly to my classroom.
They do have a version you can purchase on Amazon if that helps.

A FREEBIE favorite is this Potato Project
And my Old Lady Packs…
And my all-time FAVORITE St. Patrick’s Day Book is
Leprechaun on the Loose… here on Amazon
I would have him leave directions for magic leprechaun food (green pudding) or stealing all the kids green crayons would be cute too!
Would be perfect for St. Patty's when our mystery leprechaun leaves foot print trails to all of his silly tricks that mess with our classroom!
A first-then for following directions could be left in a "scavenger hunt" kind of activity, with a sticker or some other "prize" at each destination.

Silly McGilly would be a perfect read for when the leprechaun visits our classroom leaving his green footprints and mixing up everything in the room.
Thanks for introducing me to Silly McGilly, as well as looking for books on the Teacher's Only Store. I never have looked their for books to read in the class. I always order from the reading club flyers, but was having trouble finding leprechaun books this year. Another great St.Patrick's Day read is The Luckiest Leprechaun.
Oh he looks adorable! I know my kids would enjoy finding him following a night of writing riddles on the smartboard for them….this is so stinking cute!
I would love to win him for my class! He's adorable!
A silly trick would be to hide all of the pencils and replace them with greenngreen markers and crayons.
A silly trick would be to hide all of the pencils and replace them with greenngreen markers and crayons.
I think Silly McGilly should rearrange all the desks so the students are tricked. Silly McGilly would laugh from the corner of the room.
I think Silly McGilly should sprinkle Lucky Charms around the classroom. 😉
This is a great idea! I never seem to have the time at Christmas time to the the Elf on the Shelf so this would be a better fit for me!
I think he should cover the classroom tables in green paper. As students are finished with their work they could draw him pictures and write little notes to him on the table!
Silly McGilly seems so sweet. Some of my kiddos are afraid of the elf.
Silly McGilly should leave rainbow sherbet as a treat when he leaves for home.
Adorable! Silly McGilly would leave clovers of kindness on all of the desks.
I think Silly McGilly should turn tables upside down!
Love this!!!! Silly McGilly would be perfect for when the Leprechaun comes and "trashes" our classroom and sets off all of the traps 🙂
I think Silly McGilly should introduce my students to the leprachaun project and do a new trick like leaving pieces of gold around the classroom, replacing every crayon with only green, etc. This will motivate the students to be creative with their traps :0
I think Silly McGilly should leave a pot of gold (treats) somewhere for the students!
I love the idea of Silly McGilly. I've never heard of it until today, I might just have to do this with me class!
I think Silly McGilly might tip over all of our chairs when the kids are out to recess. hee hee
What a fun book and I love that he comes with it. I think he should spray green silly string around the room and tie the chair legs together with green yarn.
He should leave green footprints coming in the door and going to and out a window!
I'd have him get out all the green dinosaurs, blocks, and other toys and leave them like he'd been playing. My class loved when the leprechaun has done that before.
Love this book and all the fun things you can do with Silly McGilly! I think it would be fun to have him take all the crayons away except for green!
I think he should leave a map to find the pot of gold (candy coins) hidden in the room/school.
He may loose his shoes (green died baby shoes) and we have to find them. Then we get a surprise of Lucky Charms to graph.
What if he leaves St. Patrick's Day stickers for the kids?
Oh this would be fun!!! Silly McGilly could take all crayons but green, he could leave little feet print every where and glitter (my kinders love glitter), he could leave St. Patrick's pencils and treats.
What fun! I think that he would probably rearrange things in the classroom. My kinders notice everything so that would be fun for them!
Leave them lucky charms to graph. He could also leave the ingredients for when we make and write about leprechaun punch! How fun! lbettis@everestkc.net
I think Silly McGilly would rearrange our classroom and leave a pot of gold with treats inside!
I think he should bring gold coins for the kiddos. If he is naughty he could turn the water in the toilet green (if you have a bathroom in your classroom). Do they still make green tinted cleaners? Way to kill two birds with one stone! 🙂
I think he should leave a crazy crepe paper trail that leads to a pot of goodies!
I love the idea of having a leprechaun at home to do tricks! In my classroom the leprechaun usually hides clover cut outs (enough for each student), gold coins, makes a mess, and leaves rainbow colored streamers across the room. It's SO much fun!
Thank you for this great opportunity!
Little footprints all around the room using green paint! 😉

For preschoolers who are working on colors and sorting, it would be cute if Silly McGilly piled a bunch of green items in the classroom.
I think it would be fun if Silly McGilly turned the books on the bookstand upside down!
