When are you covering the Letter X? Do you have FUN, engaging, and meaningful activities that invite learning? Last week we covered the letter x, which part of this bundle. Check out some of our awesome letter x activities.
One math activity is to fill in these BOX ten frames.
Some friends color in one box as they go…
while others practice writing in their numbers…
Here is one of our Letter Xx phonics sheets.
With these sheets,
we practice our letter formation,
CVC word writing,
and even letter identification.
Do you see that letter o in fox?
Yeah… it drives me CRAZY.
We have to start at the TOP kiddos.
So I had to come up with a way to practice writing the o and the x from the top.
Hello Tic Tac Toe.
I picked up huge packs of these sheets are Target and they worked just perfectly.
Surprisingly, most of my class didn’t know how to PLAY this game.
So we had to teach them, then we paired up our students and PLAYED Tic Tac Toe.
We practiced writing both Xs and Os
and did problem solving/game playing skills.
And we had fun!
This is the best kind of learning.
We are also trying hard to sound out
ALL the sounds in the words
and write them.
We are good at the initial and median sound,
but usually struggle with the ending sound.
I created these mats for word work.
There are 4 similar, but very different mats… all color coded.
And the pieces are in color coded baggies.
{Did you miss that post about colored baggies?
Here is what the mats look like in progress.
