Welcome to Sharing Kindergarten’s Classroom Tour. This is my first year in this classroom after moving to the new school. It is a work in progress and it is constantly evolving. I have found, acquired, and grabbed up many classroom items over the past 12 years which helped me to create the classroom I desired. I worked at my first school for around 10 years, then transferred to my current school.
The Before View of My Classroom Tour
Here is a view of the classroom when I entered it to begin moving in last June. First, the teacher who prepped this classroom for me did an amazing job of making it clear out and perfect. She left the school-provided items inside the room, as she was supposed to. The student desk and chairs were stacked in the hallway like they were supposed to be. Most teachers do not get the luxury of walking into a room with such a clean slate.
Where Did It Start for My Classroom Tour??
Although this classroom looks amazing, I am so blessed. Every room comes with its own issues and problems to solve. You can read about many of the hurdles I faced when entering this room in this blog post, such as NO WINDOWS. I am also working on traffic patterns and workflow paths in my current classroom. We also went over our class size limit this year, so I had to add additional student seating.
I also revealed my classroom to everyone in September 2016. You can see details, links, and the answers to many questions here. But just as we all need to do, I had to move some things around and make adjustments to make this room even better.
Classroom Tour Video
So, may I proudly present to you a Classroom Tour Video of Sharing Kindergarten’s 2016-2017.
Do not expect perfection. Do not expect Pinterest-worthy images. But you are welcome to explore a real working Kindergarten classroom.
Where do I do from here?
If a classroom is an evolution, then it is still changing. I am working on lower shelving to expand my classroom library. The shelves are in my garage but I have to paint them black and then get them to school. I am also looking to reorganize my classroom library to make it function better. And I MUST find a place to put more of my “stuff” when we are not using it. The lack of storage in my classroom is really troubling our flow.
