Center Saturday

May 24, 2013 by Mary Amoson Leave a Comment

Are you guys ready for the LAST Center Saturday for this year!
I am so sad! I love teaching and I already miss my class.
Here are my weekly work centers from this past week.
{We didn’t have work centers the last week of school, so this is actually from the week before.}

Remember to look at the border color on each picture and match it to the description below.

Yellow- Math-I made these addition rings using cute surf board notepads. I also made the addition problems more difficult to see who really gets the concepts of addition. So instead of adding 10 and another number, I gave then 80+4 or 30+7.

Orange- writing-My kids used this FUN ocean themed sentence scramble to make true statements about ocean creatures. There are 4 sentences total, each sentence has 5 words in it. We do these types of sentence scrambles often, so my kids run to them and complete them on their own.

Purple- Phonics- I took an older compound word worksheet and cut it apart, then made this fun compound word watching game.

Blue- Unit- My kids did NOT know how to actually play dominoes! We used these ocean themed dominoes and I taught them how to play. They picked it up quick and did great. Many of them taught other students how to play and kept playing long after I walked away.

Green- Unit-We made our Spencer art from the David Shannon book, Too Many Toys. This was a part of our Author Study.

Man, I am going to miss these kids so much! It is hard to believe I have to start all over again in the fall with some new kids.
