Description

Secret Code Words: This game will review numbers 10-36, letters, writing letters, and Thanksgiving terms and images from “then” and “now.”

There are TWO versions in this pack- one regular, one with QR codes for self checking, and answer codes if you want to put the answers on the pack of the problems for self checking without using the codes.

To Prepare:
Print (onto card stock) mats for each student.
Print, cut and laminate desired thanksgiving cards. Omit any cards you do not want to include.

To Play:
Place mats and code cards at a center or small group.
Instruct the students to find the secret code words using the mats.

I usually assist them the first time we play a secret code word game, but take away support as they gain comfort.

There are 16 cards and two worksheets to allow students to break the code with using Thanksgiving “now” and “then” image. The cards answers are: cap, bonnet, boy, pilgrim (boy), shoes (then), shoes (now), doll, game, girl, pilgrim (girl), horse, truck, jeans, pants, fire, and stove.
