Description
This pack is to help students learn their color words.
There is two packs… one for the word GREY and one for the word GRAY.
This pack contains the following activities:
1. I can read color words. You will get three sets of flashcards. One contains the color words printed with black ink. The second set contains the color words written in that color. The third set contains sight words written in a variety of colors. This set is a great tool to use to make sure you students really know their color words, although it is also a challenge. You can use these for many activities and games, specifically the board game option in this pack. You can also use these cards for memory.
2. I can trace the color word. There are 4 color coded mat sets with this game. Students will look at the color and trace that color word. It will help to have to students say the word, spell the word as they trace it, then say the word again. Next, you will find a similar activity but with smaller font and all the words on one page. I recommend printing these and laminating them for repeated use. Next is a set that is in black and white so students need to trace the word and read it, then color in the paint blob in the corner to match the word.
3. I can write the color words. These color-coded mats are like the set above, but instead of tracing students will need to write in the color words. You can mix and match this set to the set above for leveled activities for your learners. If this is too big of a challenge, you can also use the color word flashcards to aid this activity.
4. I can match color words. This set is a great deal of fun. Students match the color word to the paint can. One level of this game has words written in black, while an easier version has the words written in their matching color.
5. I can match color words. Students will match the paint bucket to the brush. One set of brushes has the words written in black while an easier version has the words written in their color. The next activity is similar but with the opposite color images of paint cans and brushes.
6. I can read the color words. This activity has two leveled game boards. One game board has more spaces than the next. Use this with the flashcards in the first section of this pack.
7. I can identify color words. There is 4 color coded sets of cards. Students use the image in the middle and read the color word on the card. If the cards are laminated, students can circle the word with a dry erase marker. You can also use a clothes pin to clip the right color word. There is a set of kid cards and a set of paint swipe cards.
8. I can build color words. This is my favorite! Students can build the color word using crayons. One set has the words in black ink, another set has the words written in their same color ink. There is also a set of mats in black ink and another in colored ink. You can mix and match this to meet your students needs as well.
9. Lastly, you will get several printables to use as more practice for color words.
