Center Saturday

Hi friends.
I hope you are ready for a FUN Center Saturday post today. Since Halloween is behind us,
I was almost dreading writing this post thinking
about Halloween all over again.
Then, when I was preparing my pictures I remembered
I had more Kk activities than Halloween activities.
Check Kk activities in this bundle.
Thank the Lord!
Once I am done with a holiday…
I am DONE with that holiday!
This week we learned about the Letter Kk, which is part of this bundle.
lots of Halloween-themed literacy,
and pumpkins.
And remember…
all my centers this year are math.
Purple Center was all about matching and sequencing numbers 0-20.
My students had a KITE mat and 20 numbered cards cut up.
They had to match the number cards to the mat and make a new picture.

 It turns into a KEY.
Next week, they will do something similar with new mats,
but I will then trace the numbers, then match the number.
The orange table was a quick worksheet with koala bears
to allow my little ones to compare numbers.

We used the nose of the koala bear to make our symbols.

I have to do some worksheets to send home activities for my parents to “see” our learning.
And it makes it easier to document for SST and EIP.
I don’t have to love it,
but I do try to do one math worksheet a week for these reasons.
Red table was this amazingly perfect fall graph sheet from
I own them all so I am guessing.
They are all good though.

Blue table hosted our Koala mats.
There are two versions.

The red covers numbers 1-10 and blue covers 10-20.
My kids love these activities way more than the worksheet.
And so do I!
And our last center was green.
We made candy patterns.
I made candy pieces on colored copy paper.
Then I cut the pieces apart and placed them in one of those cheap veggie trays.
I also gave my class some pattern cards to pull out with ABB, AAB, AABB, and so forth.
I refused to place AB in the pile.
I also told my kids to NOT MAKE AN AB pattern.
I was a happy teacher when I did not get even one AB pattern.
My activities came from the Letter Kk {Print & Play Pack}, which is part of this bundle.

We are doing great building numbers and
comparing them so we are moving on to learn new math skills.
I will still use math centers to review all our skills as well though.
Hope this post inspires you to make math centers a little more fun!
