Easy Toy Soldier Ornaments

December 20, 2015 by Mary Amoson Leave a Comment

Easy Toy Soldier Ornaments your class will love!

Christmas time is approaching and it is important to make fun, cheap ornaments.
Make these easy toy soldier ornaments with your students or personal children.
It will be a simple, cheap, and FUN ornament children will love to create and parents will love to display.

You Will Need:

-9 mini Popsicle sticks per desired ornament
-glue gun-black, blue, and red marker
-gold glitter glue
-ornament hook

My first tip is to use mini Popsicle sticks instead of the regular size ones.
(Here is a link to an example of these sticks on Amazon.)
These make the ornament a more manageable size and easier to color for students.

Use these mini sticks to create a SIMPLE ornament your class will love!

After gathering your materials, you will need to prep the toy soldier figures first.
I recommend making one example to send home with a parent volunteer to create for your whole class.
You could also print out this picture below. 🙂

This image shows the back side {on the left) and the front side (on the right.)

Toy Solier ornament examples. EASY and CHEAP
You have to use three sticks in the back to hold the toy soldier figure together correctly.

Example of the BACK of the toy soldier ornament
Next, color code the front to look like this.
TIP- color code your ornament to look like THIS
This sets your little ones up for coloring their ornament.
You do not have to, but it can be hard to tell what this ornament is without this help.

Once all the coloring has been done to the toy soldiers,
I hot glue the ornament hook to the back then add a little glitter glue detailing.

Toy Solider Ornaments will be a HIT with students and parents.

Lastly, have your students print their names and the year to the back.
My own daughter made one last year when my kinders created theirs.
She loved putting on our tree this year.
