Start of the School Year Stress!

August 13, 2014 By Mary Amoson 2 Comments

Welcome… BACK to school!
 Class has been IN SESSION for a week now.
Here in GA, we start early.
I made this welcome banner as a last minute decorative idea for my classroom and I LOVE it.
I am digging how it matches the ABCs.
{#teacherproblems}
I had to sport my new Kindergarten ROCKS shirt my former TA gave me.
{She got her own classroom this year. So this is good news!
And she is the one who I created the Bee Themed Classroom for!}

And with back to school, I am stressed out.
I am NOT a stress eater,
so here is what happened to my pants just before school started.
Oiy!
Hubs isn’t happy.
 So I think a few Mini Birthday Party Ice Creams are in order.
Every year on the first day of school, my students make this school house.
This is how I check to see if they
can color,
cut across a line,
use glue,
and finally to write their name.
Overall, this is a perfect first day assessment skills check that I also use
as the cover to my Kindergarten Scrapbook.

 {You can grab this freebie here.}
Anyone else a {little} stressed out with back to school?
Eat an ice cream for me!

    I like your welcome banner; it was a good "last minute" addition! I'll have to try your skill checker. Thanks for sharing!

    Sorry your hubby isn't happy but I would be thrilled if my pants looked like that! 🙂

This week seemed to be the longest and slowest all This week seemed to be the longest and slowest all at the same time. In science, we dove into the water cycle. On Friday, we got to try some simple (covid friendly) science experiments. We melted colors ice cubes to show states of matter changes. Then we did small cups for sink float. We predicted if each item would sick or float, then tested out. We can choose f2f or virtual this week, so I only had 12 in the room with me and 8 at home.
