Science, and Bugs, and Grandma Apps {oh my!}

 Oh, I have some apps to share with you!

  Get ready… you and the app store are about to have a date!

Science apps that are GOOD are hard to come by for Kinders… so I was loving how much my own daughter LOVES this science app and it relates to so many of our units. I think you are going to want to check this app out.

Here are the units they cover in the image.

The first one is Bugs and Buttons 2. This is a $2.99 app that I KNOW you students will love. They have bugs and games and learning… 12 games in all! I give this game a HUGE thumbs up.

This app covers:

Counting , Fine motor skills, Music Memory, Shapes, Path finding, Sorting, Balance, Parts of the body, Letters, and many more…

Grandma has a garden… and how she loves bugs!

Here is a newer app featuring Grandma!

It has 10 games that cover…

1. Spot the Difference. One of those bugs is missing antennae… can you spot the one that is different?
2. Magic Coloring. Oops! That’s not the right color! Can you color it?
3. Letter Match. Send the bee to the right flower by matching upper and lower case letters.
4. Bug Spelling. Can you spell the word “wings”? Start with the first letter in the word!
5. Counting Fireflies. Can you put 8 fireflies into the jar? Be quick, they’re fast!
6. Number Groups. Which jar has 5 bugs?
7. Identify Bugs. Which one is the grasshopper?
8. Feed Baby Bird. Catch the bugs from mama’s beak to feed the baby bird!
9. Bug Matching. Touch a leaf to see what’s behind it. Can you match the bugs?
10. Build a Spider Web. Build a web and then test to see how many flies it will catch!

Here is Grandma’s Kitchen app that is so much fun! I can’t pinpoint what it is I love about these apps, but I adore them. Perhaps the theme? Who doesn’t love grandma? And there are 8 games.

1. Spot the Difference. One of those desserts has an extra chocolate chip… can you spot the one that is different?
2. Word Bake. Let’s put the dough words on the pan to see which ones bake into compound words!
3. Utensil Patterns. Figure out which nutty utensil comes next in the pattern.
4. Food Math. Wow, look at all those pickles! Count by tens to find out how many there are!
5. Pick the Clock. Our cake will be done at 3:00! Can you find the clock with that time?
6. First Letters. Can you find the first two letters in the word “snack”?
7. Fridge Fun. Those fast-moving veggies are hiding in the fridge… put them in the bowl, but don’t grab the junk food!
8. Equal Parts. Which pie is cut into equal parts?
