Letter Nn Activities are here to help you and your students LOVE learning about the letter Nn.
I have a ton of fun, engaging, and meaningful Letter Nn activities
that will be ideal to teach your little learners into letter n experts in no time.
Let’s start with some phonics printables.
We do one day of sensory phonics,
three days of these printables activity sheets,
and then a charting day.
We also spend some time with letter formation,
and not JUST the LETTER N…
We write all our letters.
We love to do these during daily 5.
We also use these nut cards with letters
to the initial sound pictures on the squirrels.
It doesn’t matter what letter I am focusing on that day, week, or even lesson,
I love to work on all the letters and sounds.
We also work on confusing sound sorting.
The letter Nn sounds close to the letter Mm
This activity is always full of “MMmm” sounds with belly rubs
and the “NNnn” with nose pointing.
I LOVE to add motions to sounds.
And so do the kiddos I am blessed to teach.
This printable is always a FUN extra practice too.
Why not sort the NUTS into the right oak tree?
Check out THESE examples!
Another activity we do to practice word work
with these n words.
Do you notice the same sheet is printed onto different colored paper?
I printed the same word work set onto four different colored cardstock
and each student gets their own color set at that table.
Easy management strategy that works every time.
I also try in our letter with math?
These NUTS ten frames do just that.
You can use one side… the other side…
or copy them back to back and use BOTH sides.
Here are some student examples for independent work!
And the two digit Nutty Ten Frame…
We also make tons of games using these larger ten frame cards.
If I can find small enough acorns, we use them to fill in these ten frames.
If not, we use a brown markers or paint with q-tips with brown paint. 🙂
Letter Nn Reader
We also LOVE these Letter Nn sight word books.
These books have a sight word pattern…
“You can look for…” on each page.
They also add an image with the initial sound on each page.
“You can look for a nest.
You can look for a nail.”
Linking writing to reading is a KEY component in learning.
If they write the word,
they have a higher likelyhood to be able to read it.
There are also TWO version of this set.
One has all the words on each page to read.
Another version has the blanks like this one to fill in THEN read.
I start the year using the reader only version.
I differentiate as needed,
even mixing and matching
even mixing and matching
but I try to switch almost everyone to the fill in version after Christmas.
I hope this gives you some FUN Letter Nn ideas for your classroom.
