and is so much FUN for your students to learn through…
He hasn’t seen my office yet, but Columbus EXPLODED in there too!}
ABC ORDER
There are 3 differentiated answer sheets to aid learners of many levels.
{I have some kids that are rocking ABC order and others that can’t grasp the concept yet.}
I am using the black and white versions on colored card stock
so my students can use them during center time.
This helps us know which cards are theirs
because each student at that center will have a different set of colored cards.
Here is this station also prepped and ready for daily 5.
SYLLABLES
I had to tie in 1, 2, and 3 syllable words.
There are sorting mats and cards, then a worksheet version.
and ready for my little learners.
I am going to use these ten frame cards with teen numbers to work with my Kinders
on number sense and letter identification.
I made cards 0-20.
Some of my students will get the 0-10 cards,
while others will be doing 11-20.
Here are some of my students working to match their numbers and ten frames.
LISTENING AND FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS
We also worked on a listening and following directions activity.
Here is a worker in progress.
And some completed sheets.
CHARTING
We also worked on our was/did/had chart whole group.
I loved watching their brains work and process.
This chart format helped them think and organize their thoughts.
A class favorite is the Fill the Ten Frame Game.
We use Columbus Day pictures to make this math activity more meaningful.
Plus, when we go to write about Columbus, my students are able to use these terms more easily.
COLUMBUS DAY ART
so I had to make a Columbus art project for them to do.
I can’t wait for them to create this project themselves.
I am anticipating the conversations when they “see” that Columbus did have LONG hair.}This is all the parts we used to create Columbus himself.
{I did a quick set up while my class was watching a Brain Pop Jr. Video on Columbus.
Here are some student creations in progress.
Our hallway display showing our awesome Columbus artwork
and some of our learning activities.
Number 1: Thanks for the reminder that Columbus Day is coming up. I am horrible at remembering things between the end of the month and the beginning of the month. With all the new demands of CCSS, I haven't been planning but a few days ahead with my team. It is stressful.
Number 2: This set looks so AMAZING! I can't wait to check it out!
I bought this and we are doing it Monday! Love getting to see what the kids did with it. Love it! Thanks for sharing, love your work.
