Freebie Frenzy

July 30, 2012 By Mary Amoson 5 Comments

Head over to Kindergarten Lifestyle {here} to check out here freebie frenzy for 1,000 followers.
(I have an item in there too!)
I am heading to my classroom today to unload my summer purchases, laminate, and start to prep more for the beginning of the school year. I am not going to be able to work too hard, as my 3 year old is coming with me. (Can you say trash my classroom!?!)
I will be sure to post pictures of my classroom soon.
It has to get worse before it gets better!
Are you personal children allowed to come to school on planning days with you?
(Tomorrow isn’t a planning day, so I am letting mine come.
She DOES NOT come with me on actual work day.)

My oldest is 11 and she has always come on days when I have to go to school. Mainly because there was no one that could watch her. =)

Not children, but my dog has come a number of days to school when I have to come and students don't. My school's pretty flexible- others have brought their children for the same reason as the above. Thanks for sharing about the freebie!

I bring my 3 kids on the days I go in that are unpaid but we are in meetings during our paid days so no kids. I try to work on one part of the room and have the kids in the part that is not yet ready, which is the classroom library this year. Have fun prepping and thanks for the freebies 🙂

This is the first year I've had a child home all summer. Usually they want to be in daycare/summer program, but this year my 8 year old wanted to stay home (which was fine with me). I've brought her out to school with me a couple of times and I was actually able to get a lot more work accomplished than I thought I would be able to! Thank goodness for a classroom library, markers, and an iPad! We are allowed to bring our school-age children to school any time (even when students are there!) Our administration is wonderful that way!

My parents are both teachers and as a child I spent many a summer day helping set up their classroom. Of course, that was back in the day. My oldest went to school with me last year so she was always there. I've taken the oldest two on non-paid days or afterschool and they played while I did extra work. With the baby this year, I can't get anything done (esp when I try to get my husband to help me hang things on the wall).

This week seemed to be the longest and slowest all This week seemed to be the longest and slowest all at the same time. In science, we dove into the water cycle. On Friday, we got to try some simple (covid friendly) science experiments. We melted colors ice cubes to show states of matter changes. Then we did small cups for sink float. We predicted if each item would sick or float, then tested out. We can choose f2f or virtual this week, so I only had 12 in the room with me and 8 at home.
