make my kids work hard…
but on the topic they are already thinking about and talking about.
{HUGE party foul… I had to pick up more immediately!}
Here is my favorite game… comparing cookie game!
One way is to have your students look at the plate.
They circle the largest number and cross out the smallest number.
to the bottom using the boxes provided.
{You can cut off the boxes if you don’t want to use that element.}
They can find the largest and smallest number.
They place those numbers on the bottom.
Then they compare their numbers and add the symbol between them.
she REALLY
really REALLY wanted to look at the cookies.
When one of the pictures fills up to TEN…
that image is the winner.
They students color that image and write the total number rolled for each
in the provided box.
Yes, some are neater than the others.
And each child can get a different answer.
Pocket Chart Numbers LIGHTS style!
I laminate these number cards and use them for everything.
They can flash cards, sensory table pieces, games,
and in whole group.
Here is how I use them at calendar.
I mix all the cards up and hand them out to my class.
We number them as a class, together.
Then all my students cover their eyes and I place a small dot with a dry erase marker
on the BACK of a card.
I give them number sense clues to find my number based on what we are learning
and what skills they need to improve on.
For example,
My number has on set of ten.
My number is less than 15.
My number is odd.
Then they guess my number.
When they think they know it,
they come up and check behind their number.
If they see the dot they have it right!
But have no fear.
