Welcome to my weekly post dedicated to MATH CENTERS.
Presidents’ Day and US Symbols,
and St. Patrick’s Day to help us to to review and learn more about math.
I try to mix and match our math centers
to cover MANY skills
for our
Some of these are a remediation or review to keep our learned skills in those brains.
Other skills are fun because they are easy to differentiate and
continue to build our number sense.
And let’s face it…
we should never stop building number sense.
Our yellow table was home to this fun math station…
celebrating you know who!
{This item was made by another seller.
I bought it years ago, but it is no longer available.}
Our orange table was host to some time shamrocks.
I made 4 sets matching cards.
Each friend had to write in the time given on the clock.
And there was to the hour and half hour times given.
Why? Why not.
We covered both time to the hour and to the half hour.
And I try review this about once a month.
And my
enjoyed it.
I made this by taking a time worksheet and shamrock notepads.
I made 4 copies of the worksheet, cut it apart, and glued it to the notepad pieces.
Then I laminated the shamrocks and cut them out.
Done.
And so much more fun than a typically worksheet.
{And easier to correct than on paper.}
At red table, we practiced measuring using Annie from The Moffatt Girls
Every time we work on measuring,
my students get a little more independent.
Next table was the purple table.
We used our pattern blocks to make these awesome pictures.
I seriously LOVE these activities from
Check out these cats.
There are three different versions of each card which allow my kinders
to create the shape with the support of the lines first,
then again with the specific outline of each block or lastly without any help at all.
At our blue table,
we used these rainbows to help build our number sense.
I gave them a number in the middle, then my
had to write in the number that comes in BEFORE and AFTER on the clouds.
Here is one set of numbers, with PURPLE numbers in the center.
And here is another set with GREEN numbers in the center.
The green table held the last center,
a freebie graph for using St. Patrick’s Day erasers.
I added this item to TpT today so you could graph it easier.
{Some of you asked where I got these erasers from…
I am sure you can get them from Party City and Oriental Trading…
Here they are on Amazon…}
