We are DONE at school.
I have no students on my roster, nor art work hanging in the hallway. The cubbies are bare. There aren’t any name plate on desks. All items with student names have been removed. I am sad.
A school without the mess and noise of children makes me so sad.
My saving grace is my plans to make this upcoming year better than ever. {Yes, I am already to work on some new ideas and implement some things that will ROCK for next year!}
So, in the spirit of cheering up any teachers who are also sad about the lose of their trained, taught, and well loved students… how about a freebie!?!
Here are my freebie phonics sheets for the bossy r family!
ar, er, ir, or, and ur sheets… completely free!
{Not that I wouldn’t LOVE for you to go over to the follow button on my blog and click on it…}

I also have a few fun apps to share that cover the the bossy r sound and let your students have fun while practicing these sounds.
Howie Hungry Monster is a GREAT app because it really offers a LOT for the cost. It has levels that are divided up by vowel sounds… just like most of us teach reading. They have levels for short vowels, long vowels, bossy r, and vowel teams!
Spelling with Cimo is also set up the same way with the vowel sounds. It also has a level for irregular vowels and keeps overall data for you. (What I mean is, you won’t know exactly which students know the vowels because they are not assigned slots or games, but you can get an overall glimpse for your class IF YOU SHARE devices.)
Does this bring a smile to your face?
I hope so!
Thank you!!!! These are wonderful!!!
I went to download the bossy r pages and was wondering if there might be a typo. On the ir page you have the word crib. Maybe it should be bird? Just wanted to let you know. Pages are super cute though! ๐

Hey Honey… nope… crib is not a typo! I use it on purpose bc my kids constantly confuse ri and ir sounds. Just like they confuse ro and or sounds so I mixed them together on the 4th set of sheets. I updated the direction sheet to spell it out a little more clearly for you… since you can't read my mind or be in my classroom! hehe
Does that help you out?
Oh, ok – great! Thanks!
I am always looking for my good apps! Thanks!
